OSBD are looking for creative people who would like to be part of a really exciting project that we are the media partner on.
It fits in with our Planet Hope series of films and our intention to be a positive part of climate crisis awareness and action.
Â
Coat of Hopes ( pilgrimaging August 27th – October 30th, then from 31st – November 6th in Glasgow for COP26)Â is a travelling, community created, work of performance craft. COH is part of the wider Camino to Cop endeavour : more info here
A patchwork garment made of embroidered pieces of blanket, created by a diverse range of people along a 500 mile walk. Carrying stitched griefs, remembrances, prayers and hopes connected to their local landscapes and stories of migration, to the gathering of world decision makers at COP26 in Glasgow, the UN climate conference.
Tim Dendy , one of OSBDs co founders and the lead creative behind Planet Hope is a part of the core team behind Coat of Hopes, will be pilgrimaging with the Coat for 4- 5 weeks of it’s 8 week journey, documenting some of the stories of those whom have created patches for the coat and the different volunteers who wear the coat for sections of it’s journey. The hope is that other film makers will join him at different points along the coat’s route to walk part of the route, or attend one of the patching events and so help create a visual record and response to the coats journey and interactions.
Â
This is an action , a pilgrimage, a response to the climate crisis enveloping us all. We are all engaging in this using our own free time and resources and expecting it to have an impact on us as creatives.Â
Â
Could you get involved by offering to help create some short films  / pieces of media that will help tell the story of Coat of Hopes and its impact and stories along the way?
Â
We need people, especially young emerging filmmakers, who would be willing to help gather footage along the route, being present a day or 2 at a time on the route and some who could help with editing and music and graphics remotely and others who could help with social media amplification.
If we can raise some funds we will help pay for expenses and possibly a small fee BUT at this point we are all doing it voluntarily as our own response and commitment to the climate crisis.
Â
If you are interested then please email  pip@osbd.org asap.
We will then set up a group zoom chat to explain more and start to pull it all together.
Â
Thank you!!
