Mental health and young people is two things we are seeing being used in the same sentence more and more, it is a growing problem in our society with more and more cases occurring daily where a young person is not coping. It has become such a massive problem that the services that are in place are overstretched and is in desperate need of support. Mental health campaigns to raise awareness have been starting up all over the world with major corporations beginning to get involved, which is causing a massive impact and bringing it to more and more peoples attention, OSBD is developing its own mental health campaign called hashtag TakeAMinute which focuses on stories from young people who have mental health issues and the healthy coping strategies that they use to overcome those issues. We are aiming to make 5 short films, 2 of which have already been made which you can watch a 1 minute snippet and find out more about the campaign on our website: https://osbd.org/takeaminute
“I was skeptical at first because I’d never had therapy, but not being able to leave the house was so debilitating. And this was when my career was really taking off.
“My surroundings would trigger a panic attack, so I couldn’t go to the studio unless I was lying down in the car with a pillow over my face. I used to beat myself up about it…I think my body has become quite good at controlling anxiety.” Ellie Goulding
